Kudos again on the launch, boys…see you in NYC… and hopefully catch some raconteurs as well. they really outdid themselves on their sophomore effort.
Joel
PS: remind me not to say kudos again…cheers

Dear Cold Splinters Staff,
Long-time reader, first time contactor. Would you please do a feature highlighting online outlets where a fella could pick up a solid pair of boots to carry him through the sloppiest and slushiest days to come? Not your fancy-boy Refinery 29 variety. I’m talking the best of the backwoods. The Red Wing real deal. Your authority is badly needed in bringing light to this under-discussed matter and would be ever so greatly appreciated.
Yours,
Dora

Hey Jeff – I thought you should know that I read cold splinters everyday. For the most part you’ve tapped into everything I like about the world. Thanks for working so had on it. Also… we should plan a boundary waters canoe trip w/ daniel and the ladies. It’s a Magic place, and if you’ve never been there, we should make it happen. Also… check out the website for Steger mukluks and Bear Island Land company. And one more thing, you should borrow a book I gave daniel called the house made of dawn. That’s all I got, enjoy your day.

Did you know that the little marks you have above the “s”s and the “r” on your logo are real accent marks (in Czech) and that they make the “s” into a “sh” and the “r” into something between a rolled “r” and a “zh?”
I keep seeing the name as you have it and trying to pronounce it, in my head, in Czech, and it’s a mess. Cold Shplinterrrrzhsh”.
Why?

just wanted to refer my own blog to folks as it covers the White Mountains of New Hampshire, USA, from natural history perspective and it might be of interest to some of your readers.
