Currently re-reading this 1979 book by Peter Jenkins, A Walk Across America. Perfect winter read when you’re good and itchy-footed. This book was a serious bestseller back in ’79 and has been reprinted a ton so there’s a dusty paperback in almost every thrift store I’ve ever been in. Or grab one here.

I felt i needed to buy a copy …. As someone who spends a lot of time in the Scottish Highlands I wanted to get a view of America and from what i’ve read about this book it is a necessity

This book was a big inspiration for my rambling years… even though it does get bit preachy and the rest of his books are christian testimonials. Also, malamutes are the best fucking dogs.

Read this last summer – it’s a quick and easy read, but I really enjoyed it. Who doesn’t love a little adventure story?

Read that book in high school and loved it. That was before I really appreciated the outdoors. I should snag another copy somewhere.

I was just composing a post about what book to read next and was looking for my brother Peter’s book and your blog popped up. I buy copies of A Walk Across America all the time at thrift shops and give to friends, old and new. Next copy I keep for myself and read it again. Can’t wait to check out your blog too. cheers!

I found lots of interesting information here and I feel like the author has extensive knowledge in this subject. Pretty good post.
