REI is one of favorite stores!
I’ve got mixed feelings about REI. REI arrived in Tucson a couple months ago. They have a solid selection and an admirable business model, but I can’t help feeling sorry for Summit Hut, the local outfit. They can’t compete with REI prices or the REI brand, but a lot more of Summit Hut’s earnings will stay in Tucson than REI’s. They give a lot back to the community in terms of service, too. Hope people keep them in mind now that REI’s in town.
