Not sure why, but I woke up this morning thinking about Old Joy and its’ Yo La Tengo soundtrack. The music makes this movie what it is, for better or worse, and playing it can easily make buttering your toast seem like a lonely and emotionally complicated time. Not sure if I liked Old Joy or not, but I know it puts everyone who sees it in a peculiar mood.
